Writing for young people

Isn't anyone interested in good clean mystery/adventure stories for young people? Why do we continue to subject them to gory computer games and blood thirsty horror movies? What other choices do we offer? What else do we give them to think about? I've written so many great stories, but sparking any interest has been futile to say the least.
