Use a Ghostwriter - and Reap the Rewards!

By Diane Thomas

If you've ever read the "memoirs" of any of the rich and famous, you know that these books were written by ghostwriters. Even some of our childhood favorites like the "Hardy Boys" and "Nancy Drew" books were written by several different ghostwriters.

Even many marketing and information books by the so-called gurus were actually written by ghostwriters. So why not you?

Small business owners and Internet marketers have to wear many hats in order to fulfill their company's goals. Writing books is another time consuming "hat" in their very busy business life. So why not pass the hat to someone who is most likely better equipped anyway?

Does it sound like cheating? It shouldn't. Ghostwriters work very closely with their clients. The information and style will be that of the "author", but the hard work of writing, editing, etc. will be done by the ghostwriter.

I look at it in this way. Hiring a ghostwriter is much the same as hiring an contractor to build your home. You know what you want. In your mind you have a picture of your kitchen, you know how many bedrooms you want, you know the basic square footage you need, and so on.

Now, can you sit down and draw the building plan? Do you know what materials to buy, how to do the electrical wiring, how to put in the plumbing? I know I can't do this, and even if I could, I simply don't have the time. So what am I to do? Of course, I'm going to hire a contractor!

I'll tell the contractor what I need and want, and he/she will design and build my house. I'm also going to work very closely with the contractor to make sure that the house is exactly what I envisioned. It's my house after all, and it must reflect my ideas and taste.

It's exactly the same with ghostwriting. Not everyone has the talent or the time to write books, but they do have the knowledge and ideas. So using a ghostwriter to put that knowledge and those ideas in book form is a logical thing to do.

Any writer will tell you how time consuming and difficult it is to actually write and edit a book. Even if you have the talent, as a business person can you really afford to lose the time involved?

And don't worry, even if you use a ghostwriter to write your book, the book is still yours. After all, it's your creation, and you will own the copyright.

In this age of Cyberspace, information products have become the hot ticket - and ghostwriters have entered into this arena as well.

Utilizing ghostwriters to write eBooks, reports and articles has become the norm. So don't let your lack of writing talent or time hold you back from becoming a best-selling author!

Use a ghostwriter for books and eBooks as a quick and easy way to build on your business knowledge and become a household name in your niche.
