If you're just starting out online or struggling to finally reach your financial independence, you need
an effective marketing strategy (or plan).
Any successful entrepreneur, online or offline, will tell you it's impossible to build a great business
without a good marketing strategy. You need to know where you are going and how you are going to get
No matter what you've heard around the Internet from some marketers hyping, "follow my program, and watch
the cash come flowing in - and without having to lift a finger!" - Beware The Hype!
You simply cannot build a successful and enduring business without a strategy and without effort.
Don't despair. Building an Internet Marketing Business is not all that difficult and if you've chosen your
niche carefully, it can be fun and very fulfillling.
When I began eBook Crossroads it was out of passion. I didn't have a marketing strategy for a while and I
was still getting traffic - and a few sales. Once I decided that I needed a plan in order to make real money,
it really turned around - and I'm still having fun!
Here are my suggestions for Internet Marketing Strategies that you can incorporate into your business plan:
1. Know Your Customer
Research your target audience. Who are they, what are they looking for? You need to know their problems or
desires, and you need to be able to put yourself in their shoes in order to make the right offers and to make
your offers appealing to those customers.

your site demographics. Another free tool is at Quantcast.com.
2. Who Are Your Competitors
To provide your customers with offers that will get the click, you'll also need to know your competitors,
What are they offering? Do they have their own products? What are their wesknesses? How do they promote?
Do they build backlinks?
3. Build A Content-Rich Website
Your website is the basis of your business, make it work for you. It should be interesting, informative,
easy to navigate and uncluttered.
If you're like I was when I began online, you probably don't know a lot about building a website. The best

4. Publish a Newsletter
One of the best ways to keep your customers coming back and for building that all important credibility and

the perfect Internet Marketing Strategy!
eMail marketing is one of the mainstays of Internet marketing. Your newsletter is the vehicle for this
strategy, and building a responsive list of targeted prospective customers is the key to successful email
5.Give It Away...
Create a short informative report with your name and links included to give away to your visitors. If you're
not ready to write your own report or just don't have time, choose a PLR product that you can change
to suit your customer base.
You can use your give-away to entice people to subscribe to your newsletter ot simply as a free gift. Provide
a sign-up page (squeeze page) for your gift so you will still get the targeted subscriber to your newsletter.
Viral Marketing is an excellent way to build customer confidence - and keep them coming back for more. You can
also profit from viral marketing in a monetary sense by giving away a product and following it up with an OTO
(one-time-offer), a "special" sale or some other form of selling a product or products.
6. Article Marketing
Writing articles is a very productive Internet Marketing Strategy. Obviously having good articles on your website
shows you to be knowledgeable about your niche and provides good content for the search engines. But articles can
also be submitted to directories (with your resource box included) which will provide backlinks to your website
as well as being picked up by others for their newsletters and websites to get your name and expertise out to the

8. Search Engine Optimization
Traffic, traffic, traffic. Without traffic the greatest website isn't really worth much, and that is where search
engine optimization (SEO) comes in. Organic traffic is the best that there is. When a prospective customer
searches for a term and the search takes them to your website, you're golden!
SEO is free, it just takes a little work. It is said that 85% of traffic comes from the top search engines,
(Google, Yahoo, Bing, Ask)
9. Pay Per Click (PPC)
Currently the largest and most popular form of Internet Advertising, Pay-Per-Click (PPC) is always a hot topic.
Using PPC an advertiser pays for each click-through by customers who click on ads placed in PPC search engines.
Some people are very successful with PPC and others fail miserably. There is definetely a learning curve
to this type of marketing.
To be successful with PPC advertising you must be able to write compelling ads that will get the click,
choose keyword phrases to target that are popular, but not too expensive - and you have to be able to make the
sale after you get the click. Remember, a popular keyword will get clicks, but it's buyers that count. If you
receive a lot of clicks with no sales, you simply end up owing a lot of money
Google is one of the most utilized PPC search engines. Numerous books have been written on how to win using Google
AdWords, but one of the best books for beginners is

Blogging is low-cost and can be used in several different ways. A successful information blog will brand you as
an expert in your niche and provide an excellent platform for advertising your products.
Using your blog to review products is another great way to market products, and again to show your expertise.
Using a blog in conjunction with your website will bring backlinks to your site, which will also assist in getting a
higher page ranking for your website.
Obviously these are not the only strategies you can use for your marketing plan. I just wanted to give you an
overview of some of the things that you can do to earn money and get yourself on the road to profits.
One other strategy that I would suggest is using Google AdSense on your website and blog. This is passive income,
and once set up you'll be rewarded for simply having good content with relevant keywords. As your website grows
you can earn more and more with AdSense - just by placing the script onto your site.
Set short term goals that are within reach - don't reach for the stars or you'll be dissapponted. Then put
together a plan, using a few of these strategies. As you go along, you can add more strategies, and take out the
ones that don't seem to work for you, until you come up with a winning marketing strategy that does work for
