Blogging For Fast Search Engine Ranking
For fast search engine rankings - try blogging!

If you have a website and want to get it listed quickly on search engines, there is no easier and quicker way than to put a blog on your site. It's a known fact that search engine spiders from sites like Google and Altavista list new blogs much faster than they list new sites.
However, it’s not quite as simple as just creating a blog andletting it sit there. You also have to use tactics like pinging, linking and relevant keywords. We’ll go over each one so that you're able to effectively use your blog for a quick site listing. We’ll also briefly go over how to host your own blog on your site.
So how do you host my own blog?
The easiest way is to install and run a blogging software on your web site’s server. One of the most popular is WordPress. It’s fairly easy to install and will work well on your site.
Where should you place the blog on your site?
Obviously you don't want to put the blog on your home page, but a "blurb" about the blog with a link will help to drive visitors to the blog. Perhaps a listing on your nav bar as well. Other than that you can place the blog anywhere on your site.
What is pinging?
This is a question that many people ask, so don’t feel silly if you don’t know the answer. Essentially, pinging is a tracking program installed on your blog that notifies the site which it is from whenever your blog is updated.
Search engine spiders visit newly pinged sites most often. That's why pinging is a crucial part of the equation to get your site listed quickly. Sites that are newly "pinged" will be visited by search engine spiders - and a visit from the spider equals a listing on the search engine.
How do you get pinging on your blog?
You would register with a site that offers weblog pinging. The most popular pinging program around is weblogs.com. Other programs offered include Yahoo’s Blo.gs, BlogRolling, and Technorati. Once you’ve decided on a pinging service, you simply follow the instructions provided to install it on your blog. When done, your blog will start getting pinged and visited by search engine spiders.
What is linking?
Linking is basically having another blog or site link to your blog. When search engine spiders visit that site and see a link to your site, they’ll visit your site. Linking is effective both for sites with blogs and those without it.
How do I get linking?
By visiting sites and blogs that are relevant to your niche and contacting the owners of those sites/blogs. You would then write an email providing generous reasons why it would be to their benefit to post a link to your site - and in return, you will link to their site. This is called reciprical linking and is beneficial to both sites.
It's always a good idea to post the link to their site before your email to let your prospective 'partner' know that you've already done your part and are serious about the benefit that their site will be to you.
Why is the use of keywords important to your blog?
Spiders love to visit sites with a good amount of keywords.People who read your site won’t mind the use of keywords if theyare lightly spread throughout the content of your pages - and don't interfere with the flow of the content.
The key is to make a list of keywords relevant to your blog posting and to use those keywords throughout your content.
It's also important not to overuse keywords. Spiders have been trained to ignore sites with excessive amounts of keywords, so if you use too many keywords in the hope of getting spiders to visit your site, it won't be beneficial. Generally speaking, using between 2-6 keywords per 200 word piece of content is a good ratio. It’s pleasing to both readers and search engine spiders.
That’s really all there is to it. There is really no quicker way to get your site listed than to use a blog. Just remember that you do need to make frequent posts once your blog is up and running.
